Fools That Know

The fools that know
so much more
more than’s good to
know
no rest
from there
mental churning

steel and stone and glass and chrome
can’t topple such believing
bricks and bars and straps and scars
can’t pacify such a mind.

The fools that rail
and wrestle
rule and reason
amuse
the wise who know
the worth
of ignoring

lock and latch nor clutch or catch
can keep a ghost from leaving
nut or bolt or gram of salt
give no weight to such a hand.
